In 2013, the congolese government aimed to invest, in a three year period, around 193 billion CFA francs (around 390 million US Dollars) to develop a large drinkable water supply to the rural areas on the interior regions of Congo, where the access rate was still low.

“The project’s goal is to develop around four thousand water wells in two thousand villages spread across the national territory” – Congolese minister for Territorial Administration

Captágua was invited to participate in this project, which started in late 2013.

In this time span, Captágua has been building it’s teams in parallel with production. At the moment, we run 15 drilling machines, with over 30 portuguese collaborators on location and about 120 congolese employees. On average, we deliver 60 boreholes a month, between 100 and 200 meter deep.

Along with the drilling, we install solar powered pumps with hidroroscado tubing that pump the water to reservoirs.
